Showed up at CP around 12:30 looking for Bobson but he wasn't there. Gus was still out catching the gusts with his 6m and getting some nice foiling in so I decided to give it a go despite Bobson not being there. Pumped my 7m and pulled out the 96l armie DW board that I'm still figuring out. Problem was I'd grabbed my 700 foil when I thought I'd brought my 900. Doh! Not sure it could possibly work without Bobson there to cheer me on, I still went out and, sure enough struggled to get going. I'd moved the mast way forward but it wasn't right as I just hobby horsed any time I got going. Bobson would have been disappointed. Finally managed to foil in to move the mast back just as Gus was packing up. The wind had dropped and he'd already seen Bobson so his day was pretty complete. Still no sign of Bobson returning but I moved the mast back to a new setting and went back out. It was light, really light now but the new setting was good and I managed to get some good rides in between those plenty long slogs. Stuck it out for quite some time thinking, 'If only Bobson could see me now! Just ticking the miles aways no matter what! He'd be so impressed!'. Ultimately, whenever I did get up, the 700 was really quick, super fun, and with lots of glide. I even pulled off two heel side tacks thanks to the glide of that small foil. Bobson would have been hootin'! had he seen me! 17knots was max speed which seems pretty good given the light wind. Oh how I wish Bobson could have been there. He would have been proud! Missed you Bobson but at least I got my log entered!
