Island View is a safer bet than Willows -- watch out for the power lines and slippery logs.

You will need help launching and possibly getting to the waters edge if the wind is strong as the launch area will be slippery if there has been rain.

Hi Eric,

I have one that I have used in the past. You are welcome to borrow it for the winter. It is a topflight and fits a Zen 135, not sure if it will fit a Mako. Pm me if you are interested.

If you are wave sailing and face a longer swim, try the Pyro Surf. I use it for both surfing and kiting. With surfing, I'm imersed in the water for up to 2 hours. Also, because of the conditions, it is critical that you can swim in whatever suit you are using. This suit has a unique lycra outer laye...

I lost a board at Cook Street a few years ago. I received a telephone call about a week later--turns out that a fisherman found it on trial island--It had my tel# on it--that is the lesson. It cost me a bottle of wine versus a new board.

The short mako might be a good board for you. The 150 is great for powered up kiting, but might be on the long side. if you can find one to demo, it would be worth it. Unless you are doing wakestyle stuff, a bit of length allows you to do powered turns & carves and provides a great jumping platf...

hi A different type of drysuit is the Pyro surf from Ocean Rodeo. It has a Lycra covering that keeps it snug, unlike a typical drysiut. Because of the outer layer, it is unlikely to get cut by a fin. A few of us have been using this suit for both surfing(it is specifically designed for this) as well...

Great idea.
