I had a few days in Port Alberni where there was a massive temp gradient, marine layer off the coast, and it blew, but late and not terribly hard, not the epic conditions you'd expect; and on at least one of those days I believe the Nat was pretty much skunked, also contrary to expectations. I've missed all the Port days for steady cranking wind this year, and those often seem to have been days with very modest temp gradients. I expect it will take a few years of close watching to figure out the wind forecast for WWW, and as noted, even the Nat wind can be surprising.
