Great gopro video! And interesting interview, guy is pretty well informed and rational. And they only started seeing them all the time when they started stand-up. Seeing the underwater life is supposed to be one of the big attractions for flat-water SUP, but maybe ignorance is bliss?! Anyway, remember my map links a while back? GW are unlikely to be around Oregon in June/July.

One of my treasured memories of the Oregon trip was trying to move quietly, methodically and calmly around to waterstart without acting like a wounded sea lion, and having Kus blast past on a rescue mission yelling at the top of his lungs "Get the F*** out of the water man, don't hang around!". I thought he'd seen a fin slicing the surface or something  Course, after watching that vid, it seems like you aren't likely to have any sign at all ....... ............ .............

not so much a rescue mission & top of the lungs kinda goes with 40 knots with all of us with hoods on or why bother.... I just don't like having bait in the water for an hour while u decided to re-rig your sail :? u make it sound like I'm the paranoid...which of course is true...but certainly I'm somewhere in the middle of the field, eh, rooster boyz  :?: I WAS counting my odds as being 1.5 in two when Dave and I were becalmed for about 10 long minutes there way off the cape  being the fatter guy

Sharks can apparently sense fat content in potential prey and can thus target Santa specifically. So pick your sailing mates carefully (ie. not BWD or Winddoc).

I'm eyeing June 18th - July 3, subject to the body surviving that long :)

TICK TOCK 8)

the wind and sun better show up for an extended period after this week  Gonna miss the bash indicated by all threats and familial direction  but heading down 18 or 19th after family anniversary, birthday, wedding, birthing, hopefully no funeral, BBQ, luncheon, dinner, baptism, engagement, graduation, get-together General Statutory Party Day until July 4th unless I get suddenly very ill and have to use up some sick time or the kusshine mysteriously breaks down in the middle of a whack of sunny windy beaches with the nearest part available ordered from Peru.

Anyone heading down wanna caravan just pm me :D I have a few new tracks of Nickelback on tap for those musical connoisseurs out there  you know who u are
