Needs a constant 10 to pump on with a 7.4, basically a few white caps and you are in business. Had a 5.7 out in 12-15 today and was totally happy. Plus if you can fly at all you can do it upwind.
Really opens up a lot of marginal days.

So no giant wind shadow in the lagoon? Foils handle gusts well enough if they aren't huge and short duration. You can keep going through some deep lulls.
Is NW a common wind direction in the summer? Anyone launched from the Work Point area?

I don't surf anymore.....

Moving in

I'm looking at rentals in Victoria and a factor is how easily I could get away for windsurfing after work in the summer. I am no stranger to light wind and can slog my foil gear out easily, so long as I've got 10-12kts I'm flying. Can you give any insight specifically for areas that are worth consid...

If it'll stay down just keep it there. Operation isn't critical until your planing. Just keep the mast base forward.

Your SUP has through bolts? Or are you going to modify it? Does it have footstraps?

Their wings are among the most expensive. Must be the socket mount.
All their other components seem reasonable however.

$300 vs $62, might save 2 minutes and weighs an extra pound. I'll pass.

The Slingshot really only has two positions and they are quite vocal about the forward one being most optimum. You can set it up to ride off the rear foot but they consider that to be kind of a dead end past the beginning stages. They are going to be launching some faster wings, carbon masts and mor...

From what I've heard there are way different feels between the foils. Your experience sounds nothing like the Slingshot. It's more like riding a really turny board that steers with the least bit of pressure, but it can still do great angles. Hence why I'm looking for a more freeride oriented board t...

5.7-8.5 with a 7.4 RAF being my most used. MBP doesn't really work the same as a regular board. Neither does center of effort. Having the mast base forward with a large sail just sticks the board to the water. So does having the front foot too far worward. Both force you to keep a lot of weight on y...

Doesn't tune AT ALL like a regular board. Virtually zero foot pressure across the board, it's all vertical. Mast actually goes back to reduce back foot pressure (already at max rear). Boom is run pretty darn low and frequently you just cruise unhooked once you are up.
