board bag needs ride from Vic to Nanaimo

Tempy's new board bag needs a ride to Nanimo. If anyone is headed from Victoria to Nanaimo please contact me on here or at 250-710-7777 and hopefully we can sort out him getting his new board bag sooner rather than later. I can meet you anywhere in Victoria area.

thanks,
Boardbagson. 8)

kting lessons

Okay, taking the 8,10m rises to Parksville this weekend with a friend. Hopefully a light NW will be there as well. Get some time on the beach away from the crowds to get used to flying them. Looking forward to more nice weather and lesson time. Wahoo!!

kite lessons

Thanks for all the suggestions and support. Sign me up for the first weekend training session up at Nitinat, I'm excited to get out now. I'll get a 3 meter 4-line trainer kite till I'm ready to practice in the water. IV on a warmer light wind days when it's ime seems like a good starting point. Jimm...

Kiting lessons

Okay, I'm going to take kiting lessons at Nitinat this year. Ya, everyone else is doing it so I thought ... why not..?? What I would like to do is practice before going up and taking them. As I've flown a 12m C-kite before on the beach I thought practicing first would be a good idea so I'm comfortab...

Windsurfing Sidney

I've sailed there a few times. No real issues. There is one large rock that shows at low tide about 50 meters west of the boat ramp and 30-40 off shore, that is the only one I know of. Works well on E,SE,NE best of all but if you're looking for flattish water and have big gear it works okay too. I f...

Garmin

Hey W247, Yes, that was a good unit but it had it's problems. Got water inside twice. Both times because of high speed wipeouts. It was only waterproof to 3 meter or close to it, it was the foretrex 101 or something like that. Garmin sent me a new one each time so it was super great customer service...

Port Alberni Event...??

Hey PA folks!! Are there any permanent buoys, floats etc that could be used for racing..?? As the wind comes from the same direction mostly something mostly across the wind or upwind/downwind etc. Maybe a finish line that is close to the shore for spectators like the tall wharf with the cam on it..?...

Okay, 3-4 degree difference and dry sounds good so far. It'll be big gear but sunny and relaxing. I'm leaving Sunday AM, get there at noonish.

Anybody know if there is wifi somewhere in the village at the store..?? Is the store open..??

Feeling pretty excited for the first trip of the year!! Yay!

First Nitinat trip of the year...

Okay, forecast for this coming weekend (May 5 and 6th) is looking reasonable. Might be the first Nitinat trip of the year (for me). Anyone thinking of travelling up there this weekend..?? I always like sailing with others on the lake. Went up by myself once and sail with one other kiter and camped w...

Fun Racing

I'd like to try to start some fun racing in the area. To begin with just getting to know people that are interested in some fun racing. Wait for some wind and pick some buoys or crab traps to go around. Even if it's just 2 people. So post here if you'd be interested, no commitment just getting to kn...
