The marketing clips are just too short to figure out what is going on, but it sure looked like one of them was dropping off foiling when the clip ends, and the guy initiating the jibe looks way too intense and worried! Wonder how that turned out. Gotta try a few systems to see if the hype will tran...

Foiling
Hey, I was in at North Shore ski and Board in North Van today. They are stocking foils and say the Starboard guys are foiling on windsurfers at Cates Park in about 8 knots on 5.7M. Jibing is tough..but they say just sheet out, depower...when board drops to water, do a tack and go back. Check this cp...

Vid
Hey Ray, Good vid. Interesting. He says a regular box will likely be toast after about 10 foil sessions due to the massive pressure put on the front of the fin box. And seems the foil specific boards have much softer, rounder rails and no concaves on the bottom. For better landings when coming down ...

Foils
Got an email from Windance today saying 2017 is the "year of the foil" and they are advertising windsurf foils. Pic is hard to see but you can use a board with a Tuttle box, deep tuttle OR even a powerbox with their plate system. I know this was discussed earlier in this thread, but just r...

Foil windsurfers
Maybe just give kiting more than 6 hours of your time like you did learning windsurfing and save your money. I get that I would like kiting and didn't give it a chance. But those 6 hrs of kiting last May and getting hurt took away three weeks of prime windsurfing time. And my time to sail is gonna ...

Re: 2018 naish windsurfing
haha I have heard talk of bwd's legendary understated humour....not bad. I talked to some guys in the Gorge last year who were learning foil windsurfing at the time. Jibes looked really sketchy and difficult. But those guys were on homemade foils. I also just saw a Facebook post of Dale Cook jibing ...

You've missed me. I can tell. I have missed you too.
It's been a good winter (finally)...lots of snow and no Scando cold fronts. I'll be back here on bwd for a few months anyways.
Looking forward to seeing you soon.

Makani Piranha
I just bought a Piranha "serrated" centre fin for my 96L Fanatic FreeWave Tri. I have all Makani fins now for my Tri. Hoping to get out to Nitinat to sail soon to try them out. PS -- selling stock Fanatic Tri fin set up...a 19 cm MFC centre fin (power box) and two MFC 12 cm side fins (slot...

Fins
Hey Lawrence,
Whaddya think of the serrated Piranha fins by Makani?
I just ordered one for my Tri fin.
Makes me think of the wavy edged, "magne-traction" on my Lib-Tech skis.
