Arrived to Kook at 8 PM to see all of the QUITTERS leaving. Sailed all by my lonesome for an hour of soul time. I tried BWD's advice of looking back and twisting the body toward the clew on forwards and.... IT FRICKIN' WORKS! Wow what a difference. My first 4 loops felt very different (though who knows how they looked). I was able to spot my landing early and felt like landing on my feet will be less hit and miss if I re-tool my technique. :D Another fun day at Cook, with the usual gusty/holey wind. Lots of tidal action really churned up the water just beyond the reefs then mellowed out later on. Still cold on the hands today. My hands are getting sore from sailing, I need a day off. :shock:

Waited for the wind to pick up like it said. Got to Pipers and saw whitcaps so went to Orr. Looked good at first with whitecaps but after I got out it died shortly after. Met G-daddy and there was another windsurfer and kiter close by but they didn't stay long. It was my first sail of the year so not a bad day. Nice and sunny.

first went out on the 12 and it picked up to 25mph... played out on the water with the 12 till it was just too much.
had an awesome time on the 9m. met a guy on the beach from the lake tahoe area, told me some tricks on how to jump.
can now jump more consistently! getting some big long floaters.

Sweeeeet! First one to show just before noon, and made the mistake of rigging 5.9/104. Got blown off the water about 30 minutes later. Rigged down to 5.4/88 and about right to OP for the rest of the session. Only been on that 88 about 4 times since I got it a couple of years ago. T-Bay wasn't all that windy, and I was too nervous to head out on it in the open ocean/cold water last fall. What a great day, mainly sunny. Got to try out both the lowend and highend on the RISE. Was still out on my 12m when others were riding their 16m and 15m during the start...then it picked up and it just got better. Only a few eastcoast kiters, lots and lots of room on the water, couldn't have been a better day :D Water was a lot warmer then last session, will have to break out the wetsuit.

Similar to Saturday but a tad less. Nicer waves today. Sandra started out first and sailed the 4.8 for a good hour or so. I took the 5.4 and small board out and ripped until the wind lulled. I had a good break on the beach until the wind returned late afternoon. Returned to the water for my best session of the weekend. The wind was way up and I felt totally dialled in. Shared the water with about 2 other sailors. SWEET :D :D
Nice way to end a great weekend.

Fun session with Dave and RD. My loops were all splats today. Not sure what the issue was today. Landed lots of vulcans, tried some spocks but losing the rotation. Will get'em soon. Felt more dialled on shuvits than ever and rotated into one that felt like the start of a shaka with the nose pointed up the lake. Great weekend, much stoke, good company and excellent chocolate cake (thanks Pat!). Russian Dude, you need to step up your game for fireworks displays. Note to self: bring more Fireball next time.

Well it was a wonderful day all round. The sun was shining and I was on top of the water more than in it! I had 4 launches of the beach, 2 some what graceful landings, one blop in the hole down from the point and a very styling a profiling self rescue into Gordon's beach when I really hit the hole. Good long session (4:30 -7:30), without needing lots of breaks. This place makes one thirsty though - one minor leg cramp as a result. Lots of practice gybing. Mini hops.
Wow, that 5.0 is an entirely different sail with a RDM! I love it! It makes sense: Severne sail and Severne mast.
Gusty; it went from slog to OMG OP repeatedly. The sail handled it well. Warm blasts of wind and icy turquoise water.

What a great day :!: :D Super fun vibe on the water. Wicked huck ramps for the first half :twisted: . Then, big rollers for the 2nd. Fish showed up with a game face and started hucking every reach :o . Nice going Dave :!: . Had a blast ripping swell with Wingnut near the end. Lots of people out enjoying the conditions. Fishette (Barb), Mark, Dave, Cameo by Mark Shepard :o . Looked like amazing kite conditions. Stoked.

:D As joe said,"lots of airtime" today. Rs had the biggest boosts! Jz is the most improved kiter of the day (no fear!). Fluffy was right behind on the improvement side. Lots of smiles all around. May on the Straits, gotta love it!
