Re: DIY wingfoil harness?
I may have a chest harness in the bottom of a tote. Won it racing longboards in 1981.  Yeah I think they would work, but the originals were just webbing going to a hook with webbing slots on a plate. They must have had a quick release given we were using simple braided rope without even...

Re: How much Wind is needed to Wingfoil
I disagree, I slip downwind way faster on a 125L board holding a wing than I do leaning against a sail on the same board. Yes great videos!!!! Part of what Tweezer was saying was when the wind dies completely. What Tyson (or Wyatt?) said about windsurfers slogging in jumped out at me too. An attrac...

Re: Hello!!
I have a spare ws. harness you are welcome to borrow Ada as a welcome! My Sprinter van is out of commission for the weekend, I'm cramming my gear into a smaller vehicle, so can't help out on transport. I'll try and remember to put in the extra harness though. I have small feet and have some booties ...

Re: Amazing Foiling Summer
Astounding Bobson!! And I think your watch quit recording part way through sessions a few times so the stats probably underestimate (unless you included the car trip home a few times  ). If all those paperclip squiggles were straightened out that would have got you to Maui north shore or Cabo o...

Re: Tuning/ Rigging Advice for a 5.0 Hot Sails Superfreak
one small thing, unless you are running an adjustable outhaul, the clew should be snug or at least very close to the end of the boom, it helps stabilize the sai. I always used to leave mine with extra room, like in these pics, my thinking being that I could add outhaul easily if I was overpowered ev...

Re: Help Sooke basin guy looking for 130 ish board
Sooke Basin is challenging to sail on a fin board, something like a hypersonic and a big sail will maximize the amount of planing/working upwind you can do. If you are having a lot of spectacular catapaults, have you got enough downhaul? Having a loose leech and sail twist will definitely reduce the...

Re: Tuning/ Rigging Advice for a 5.0 Hot Sails Superfreak
HSM bag and sail info for things like extension length are completely untrustworthy. They are often wildly wrong. I had to write the correct numbers on my bags and sail with a sharpie (the right numbers usually from the on-line rigging guide I think). Superfreaks are, as others have said, really har...

Re: Nitnat rookie
I think we look for 8 to 10 degrees for guaranteed wind. The really hot spells do tend to shut things down especially with an easterly flow. But Nitinat will have wind in the summer where there isn't a breath anywhere else, so I wouldn't give up hope.

And in case its not clear, the stability and upwind potential is even when slogging (going too slow to foil). Big safety factor compared especially to kiting. I did see a winger at the bottom of the beach and near the anchored sailboat on Saturday, that was probably you Tlaloc? Saturday at Willows a...
Hey MF4 can you email me a screen capture. I’m not sure what pages you are referring too, or post a link here. The poll results seem a bit inconclusive at the moment. Hmmm, now I can't recreate it. The 24 hr graphs are opening this morning in two columns like a well-regulated militia. I think I was...
I like it a lot. Will take some time to figure out where to find particular forums etc. I don't mind the wind indicators too much, I'm used to them from Canadian and US government weather apps. You can read the speed to the nearest 5 knots directly; the old graduated arrows you had to hover over to g...

Wondered when this would happen, check out 3:30 to 4:00 and 10:16 to 10:25 "Derek likes to fly his wing up high like a kite, so he put these longer lines on his wing, .... he gets a little bit more wind that way" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_vxPbsV3jo
