Somehow, Morton Toes held up a 6.0 during one 4.5 session - arms of steel !!! Cold on the beach after sailing... Interesting that I sailed a 4.5 on my 45th day this yr... :)

Tropical storm blowing through the islands and man was it ever gusty. At times I was way over-powered on my 12m and really wished I had a Bow kite to help me through them. I forsee an OR One purchase in the future. Wind kept on picking up so I headed in and was way to tired to rig the 8m so I called it a day. About 8 kiters and 3 windsurfs out today. Lots of fun

Took two runs on the Carve before wind picked up and then spent the rest of time on the 70L getting off the water at 5:30. Cool and cloudy most of day.......campsite getting overloaded.......time to go home and look into other possibilities. Had fab. eleven days at the Nat. Thanks to many friends and family for making it so special. I've learnt so much and feel that my sailing abilities have really improved.

I hit the water in the afternoon and stayed out til after 7pm. Great day. I was on the 5.4 all day but could've easily been on the 4.8 at times. I liked the extra power though. What a rush. Some really big jumps early on and then the swells got a bit messy. POrt jumps are rockin now :D

CAVEAT WAVE WINDSEEKER: We journeyed to Long Beach on Thursday and got pseudo skunked. EC and Model Calling for 20 to 40 knots at the shore in all areas. It blew 15 knots at 5:00 p.m. for about an hour then died. I was good on my 14, others dinked around on 12s. Comber's beach is idyllic for kiting esp at high tide there's a shallow area for 400 m or so until the surf. Waves were small but perfect, spaced perfectly. I can't get enough of LB but don't expect to score there too often ... :D

began the day by trying out Chris' Starboard Aero 117. Very short board for a 117 L. Quick to plane and lively on the water. Jibes like a Carve. The wind oscillated between 5.0 and 6.0 for a couple of hours. Finally at about 3:30 it settled into solid 5's and [i:ab02cc49c9] spent an hour and a half on the Kombat and 5.3. The wind stayed up till about 8pm. A pretty good day overall. Jumps, jibes, and some clew first sailing. Time for a serious attempt at duck jibes. [/i:ab02cc49c9]

Morewind coined the description of the day: Microhate.

Flattest day I've seen there in a while. Morewind tossed a beautiful rotation in front of me and was whipping UW 360s like they was buttah.

Wind kept backing off but a decent session was had despite the lack of gales. Camped at JR, strummed my new gee-tar, went to sleep a smilin'.

Incredibly fun day - very strong west at first, then faded like God turning a big dial down. All the water went flat. Came in, still flying the kite and waited out the 10 minutes of wierd wind. And Then. It Happened. Full on wind, but the water texture was FLAT, with small, smooth, round rollers. In other words, a PERFECT SKATE PARK. Zero chop. Butter with ramps. The waves were up to mast high at times and the wind was perfect for the 4.5 - lots of power to get out and nice speed for down the line sailing. Excellent waves for riding and crazy steep for jumping. Got the highest jumps that I've ever done. Everyone was sailing really well today. Whoa! Arrived just in time to see Arturo pancake a big jump on his 3.6 right off the beach. One word about the sesh - Windy. Defineitly Windy. not sure how much fun it was, but it was definitely windy. My windiest day at Gordon's I think.

The usual suspects were at the beach, and Grant Watson was showing us all how to be lit up on a kite. Moves of the day "5 steamboat" air, "waterstart to body toss", "the clapper" (i've fallen and I can't get up) and 2 inadvertent forwar ... (more)

:D :D :D :D 1/2 NITINUKE!!!! Another day at the lake with small gear. Strongest wind at the peak yet at Nitinaht. Sailed 2 hrs in the nuke fest with the 4.5/72L, great jumps and waves. Popped an outhaul line on the inbound reach :). Sailed the later session with a 5.0/95L as things got gusty and holy later. Very nice!!! My 95L is starting to feel like a big board :D :D :D :D 1/2

Stopped by on motorbike to watch, thinking it was too late. Good Lord, Thomas Grant and Nicole were making it look like heavenly fun. So, ran home, got my stuff and rigged up for a half-hour of thrills. Nicole launched me, and I enjoyed a nice session of kinda holy wind before racing off to other evening commitments. Sweet stress relief just as the doc ordered :)

 Arrived to find 4.0 wind but the chop was ugly early on, still good for insanely powered jumps though. The wind eased a bit around 6pm and the swell cleaned up somewhat as people were leaving. Middles got quite smooth with 5' rollers and the chop mellowed. 6 to 7pm was a blast.

    Still 4.0 when I left at 7:30. 8)
