I was at Nitinat Sunday, it was blowing really hard until about 3 PM. Gareth, sorry to hear about your board. We use the Dakine Coil Kite Leash for our school. This has a separate Cuff that straps around your ankle. Mt Washington is in fact under 3 hours with the new roads but does not compare to Whistler (Disneyland as I like to call it). There are a few backcountry spots on the island as well, the closest about an hour away. http://www.clubtread.org/kludahk.htm Other than that I think Victoria wins hands down...
