One of the crew came in and said 'I feel like I'm peaking on shrooms' he was so happy! Last eve was also excellent. More please! We'll worth putting on the bucket list for sure! Pipers came through again! Lots of 5m winds to be had by the time I got in the water just before noon. Not as strong as Thursday, but lots there for foil play. Fraser was already doing the high-speed Fraser thing beyond the channel marker. Lots near the beach and further out in my morning session shared with a couple of other novice foilers. Second session was a bit tougher as the ebb tide and winds were going the same direction. Still got lots of play in in my first wetsuit day of the season!

Arrived just before 8am to a mostly empty parking lot other than Docker pulling his board out of his vehicle. Fairly light to start but enough on the outside once you got there. Nice waves for flagged out rides although sometimes tough when there was barely enough breeze to float the wing. Got my first tacks in the waves and a bunch more on the inside, really starting to lock them in. Gosh darn Hockey game had me up late East coast time, awoke to 10 degrees cooler temps as the winds had shifted N. Still a great direction to launch right from the spot and had a fun 2 hrs cruising up to Island Creek dodging oyster beds and crab pot floats. Shifty NNW-NE winds made it a little tricky at times,powered solidly then shift to lull!
Not nearly as much fun as yesterday, was stoked to check out the Ocean for potential sesh by the Avon Pier but had cut my feet medium-badly on some shells on landin ... (more)

So much for an early bird session. Woke up at 4:30 to 10 knots from the west. 5 am wasn't much better so waited until 6 and it showed 18 wnw. Was out the door in 5 minutes. Foiled for 2 hours. Started with 10-12 knots and built to 15-18. Was the best when I had to leave. Still worth the drive. Worked on using a narrower stance which made foot switches easier and more consistent on the dw board.

Coma sleep after 'The Drive' and windy double-sesh yesterday. Awoke to freshing SW that got DB out winging early, then headed back to Kite Beach on the lure of stronger forecast and hopes of more fun sessions with Aiken and the North crew. Light got lighter so headed back home and scored 2 hrs of fun rides right out front of our rental place on the Sound, lit 10m.
Hoping for potential Ocean sesh if the wind goes NE, but competing forecasts make it iffy.

Well, not as advertised. Arrived to RVPaul, MtnarG and The Twizzler all rigging 6,8,5 respectively. I rigged the 7.0m as it looked like 8-12kts with a couple caps by the yellow buoy. Sweet session. Way more wind than expected! Especially around 2 pm when I came in. Most of the time I was North of Point Grey and went to the North Arm jetty twice. Yes, I could have been on smaller gear, but really enjoyed the downwind riding after easy upwind legs. Awesome day!

Nice to be back on the water with KC7s. Long walk to the water due to the extremely low tide but it filled in after a while. Hit a school of fish at one point and almost bailed. Another guy hit a seal so I guess I'm lucky.
After a couple hours I decided to try my new Cabrina Mantis 5.0 V3 on my giant windfoil board. After a few minutes of holding the wing awkwardly I got foiling and almost jibed. Did one more reach and took a hard jibe to back splat. Arms were toast after a long afternoon on the water so ... (more)

The forecast was a little green on both models but with 15 kts on the early report for Entrance Island and a sunny 20 degs for the afternoon, Pipers had to deliver. It did :))
10:00 The old pine was humming nicely and the fin crew (Uddereef, DavidM) were already rigging, (first signs of a good session at PL). Adequately powered for most of the first half. Classic 2 session Pipers day with two 4m sessions with Idefix, Uddereef, DaveM, Sam in +20degC sunshine. Very much worth the drive. Had my farthest offshore foiling - almost 3km to beyond Five Finger Island. I followed Idefix to the best swell I had ever seen/foiled. I did get intimidated by the distance after a couple of flagged runs and I lost sight of the PL channel marker. Stayed a little closer to shore after that. Up here for house sitting, hit the jackpot on day 1. AND there was a humpback playing about 200 m off the beach.

Nice session today. Launched j_dog and then self launched and proceeded on up the beach on the windward side. Wind was quite good and fairly steady. For the first part of my session there was some nice rolling swell but as the tide flooded it turned to chop. I tried several tacks but had no luck mainly because the 10m and the amount of wind available was not enough to support me during the transition. Haven't been out in a few weeks so stoked to get a good session. Getting really comfortable on the small board and how maneuverable it is. 4 was a good choice for most of the session and fairly debris free except one good log that I kept finding.

Most fun downwind runs ever! Ebb threatened to take me west of Clover Pt and I ended up near the beach in the point's windshadow and with kiters close behind me. That gave motivation to bear right off once I got up on foil, had to get into the washing machine before there was enough wind, and headed off towards Trial Island on starboard tack.
