Listened to the wind CRANK all day at work but prayed for the late session to come through. Arrived at Kook St. to see RD and 2 kites out playing in the puffs. Damn. Rigged anyway, guilted Dave into rigging and we had a super lame session for about 25 minutes. I think I even got my fin out of the water on one massive hoplet. :x

Gusty frontal winds. Wind dropped right off as Grant and I pumped up, everyone came in. Within 15 minutes though, it came back from the West. Some low spots at first, and then it just got stronger and better throughout the session. Still, pretty wacky wind, not at all the regular summer stuff. Glad to be on the ONE kite for some of those powerful gusts! Fourth day in a row, and the water was the cool thing today. Mostly flat, with little waves now and then.

Missed the bigger waves but got decent wind, a bit up/down routine. Wicked speeds but blew rear strap on Supercross so back to Jesus, comfortably numb :P some decent wave rides, lots of kelp salad, a few flashbacks of how my beak got busted at Gordo's, the picture's becoming clearer. Wow! This session kicked up a storm. The first two hours were some of the best waves & jumping of the summer. Later, things notched up in the gusts, and made some wild rides on the smoothest waves. An excellent session. Denise & Dave (from Prince George) arrived with big gear that evening and looked worried - the next day a system moved in to shut things down. Not a typical Nitinat day. We all were expecting Monday to be the best day of the weekend, but most were disappointed with the frontal-type early afternoon wind, and gusty, holey wind later. The end of the day seemed stormy, with rain clouds moving in. I first went out at around 1pm, and got blown away on the 4.8. :o I was way overpowered at the beach. Wind was cranking pretty early and it looked like it was going to nuke. Sandra went out at noon on the 4.8 and was blown off the water. I jumped on and had a bit of a crazy ride. Unfortunately it was super gusty and holey and the wind eventually dropped to a gusty 5.5. MAjor bummer :cry: It was looking sooo good in the morning. Oh well.

:D Was one of the best sessions of the year for me. Not often you get temperatures over 20 degrees in the shade at Ogden and wind over 30 knots... :) What an incredible afternoon! Was awesome seeing Grant "air puppy" Watson creating obstacles for the seaplanes.
The wind, water and even the beach was absolutely beautiful today, what can I say. Fingers crossed for another session like that before the year is out.

Piper's giveth and Piper's taketh away. Nice half hour of powered up sailing with swell (er... windswell, sorry) building port ramps, nice carving jibes planing into the trough ... then it died. Did a classic "one more reach to get upwind" bonehead move which meant a longer S.O.S. (swim of shame) and walk back. Chewy wins the award for longest swim and hike today though. The 77 didn't feel like a one-board-quiver today in zero gusting to 5 knots.

Rigged a bit big, but soooo fun! Impressed with the # of kiters ripping in the strong wind and decent waves. Dave got a sweet fwd in front of me and Stephane and Robin were boosting some good jumps. I managed a few fun rotations. Not bad for a post-work session!!
It's nice to get back on the WS gear in strong wind after kooking out at at kiting.

Hmm, seemed pretty light....til I got out & the sail contorted like mad, some good punch today 8) Flat, flatter, flattest I've had the 5.8, only just right near the end when it kicked down for a bit. Got some great wave rides, shouldda rigged a M less tho :wink: All that kelp sucks hard :evil: thx for that hi tide. Kiters having a ball, no other WS's, ULR showed up as I left. Two sessions today - the first at Gordons and the second at Cook. Sailed for barely an hour at Gordons on the 4.0. The wind was good, a little up and down, but the chop wasn't too fun on my bad knee, bad foot and bad back :evil: Later on had a fun session with Winddoc, Stephane and ULR at Cook. Nice head on ramps - had a good rotation on 1 forward, the rest not so good. Doc landing some nice high loopies.

Today the session started earlier, and after 1/2 hour of 7.5/111L, it was time to move to a 6.0/95L (0.5 hr) followed by a 5.0/95L for the bulk of the session. Extremely smooth water with glassy, glassy rollers. Deceptive winds, as there were very few white caps for their strength. An excellent day on milky blue water under the sun!

Nice day! I didn't want to sit this weekend out just because I cracked the nose of my board on Saturday. Rob lent me his JP FreeRide, and I had no choice but to try it. It felt awesome to sail. I'm used to my 118 Lt RRD board, and without the extra part in front of the mast, it was easy to manuever, especially for waterstarting.
I didn't get into the footstraps, as I was getting used to the feel of the shorter board, but I definitely will want to sail this one again. :D

great sunny afternoon sailing with a fun loving crew. nothing like a little acoustic system of a down on the beach to get all fired up. :twisted: awesome to see dunkinguy back out on the water and windoc teaching my old board new tricks. i decided it was now or never for the grubbys. tried about a dozen so now its just 488 more untill i have them wired! got some good tips from the gallery, cant wait to get back out.
