RD

RD - our friend ( in her early 30's) just beat breast cancer, just had her last surgery a few months ago. She's back to work and got a new rack out of the deal. Maybe you can get some mods too so you'll be able to huck triple forwards right out of the gate. See you on the water soon. http://zambooie...

2nd wind

Yep it's blowing solid 9.0m in the gorge, nice sunny day though. Double mountain for lunch and apple valley huckleberry milkshakes for dessert kept us busy. Tomorrow has a bit more promise, going to have to get some exercise one wayor another tomorrow to burn off the calories A little disheartening ...

Hood River

Good thread, I've been feeling like my sailing level has been a bit stagnant too but I'm still having a blast whenever I get out. Just got a new 86L board which is the smallest I've sailed and found it to be very comfortable in 5.5 conditions and below. Time to sell some of the bigger gear and maybe...

Gord! Glad to hear you're still on the board. Maybe we can hook up for a Nitnat trip this summer. I've lost a few pounds doing renos and from all the stress of my new job  I seem to get cold faster than my grandmother these days. Been thinking of getting a drysuit so I can layer up and enjoy m...

Maui

We went last month for 10 days. Not much wind but I did get out with the humpback whales for one day in Kihei. We flew westjet there and Air canada home, two of us flew for about $950 return taxes and everything except dinner at the Sammy Hagar restaurant before the return flight. We stayed in a pre...

How we use the University of Washington Wind Model

Hi everyone, sorry for the model forecast problems. I'm away right now working and after a 13hr day today I was able to spend a few hours on it. I know what the problem is. The U of W banned my home computer from accessing their website due to overuse. I was able to fix it temporarily using a proxy...

Really sorry to hear that you guys. Just saw him on Wednesday and he was having a great time at Nitnat. I'm sure his spirit will always be there.

See you on the water in happier times soon.

ribs

I bruised and/or cracked a rib snowboarding earlier this year. I couldn't move for the first week but they slowly improved until about the 6th week when they still felt a bit weak but didn't really hurt anymore.

Sounds like you will heal up much faster if you're already hiking!

Florence

OSR from Florence. We drove through today and it was fogged in, not much wind. We drove north to Lincoln City and the fog bank was offshore for most of that drive but now we are socked in again in LC. Seemed windier in the sunny spots but maybe it was just that I could see the water through the fog!...
