My hitchhike report is apparently important, downwinded to OtterPt only to find no wind, small fin & board made tons of reaches w/no progress up, barely slogged in to last property before abyss that is OtterPt, 3rd car stopped, pickup w/my truck, back sailing 5 minutes later. Not painful but scary slogging in & thinking I was going for multihr drift to Sooke :shock: Windchannel @beach 50 yrds wide :roll: redeemed sesh somewhat

One of the best days I've ever had at Nitinat. Went out first thing on my slalom board with the 6.8 for some white knuckled fun. Insanely fast, verging on out of control but mega fun. Better than a Starbucks espresso :lol: Gotta borrow one of those Garmin's sometime.
Took a lunch break while Sandra did a bit of kiting and then windsurfing. Wind was way up now. Headed out again on the little board with the 4.8. Some of the best starboard ramps I've ever seen at Nitinat. They were head on and they were ... (more)

Port rocked :D Some small smooth swell built up. Odd bigger jumbled piece. Nailed 4 foot by 5 in diameter log. Surprisingly there was only minimal rider damage :D and no board damage (can't quite figure how that could happen) :D :D Full body armour a good idea for Port ,especially when sailing into the sun ,which is pretty much always.

beauty waves, solid wind and dazzling sunshine for the first bit. a perfect lull right when i wanted a rest and snack. the worst was rigging the 4.1 while people had to ask "so dave do you think the lack of fog will kill the wind" in response to my misguided post earlier.

Went out to JR looking for some waves, but instead pleasantly surprised by some flat water and nuking wind. Took the 11 out at first, waaaay OP, but no one on shore to land my kite... :? Arrived at 6pm to light on the inside and looking good on the outside. Schlogged out to the point and then ripped for an hour as the wind picked up to 20kts. Wind completely died for 5 mins on the way in, floated till wind came back...weird wind today and lotsa stuff in the water. Still good 1hr session. Fun, fun!

Spent most of the day watching Sandra rip up the lake on her kite. Went out late in the day for a light wind rip on the big gear.
Powered up blasting for a while and then the wind shut off. Unfortunately, I was on the far side of the lake and without an uphaul. I had to get creative and take my boom apart, take off the harness lines and use them as an uphaul. Took a bit of messing around but it worked like a charm. Nice bonus sesh 8) Did not expect wind, but saw ogden jump so I went to check it out. The 15 waroo only needs about 12 knots and I can upwind well as well as jump! :) Still a big fan of high wind kiting, but light wind and smooth water isnt bad either! The Clover Point launch was quite nice also 8) Walked down the boat launch on the ross bay side. Then upwinded around the point and walked up the paved ramp to come back 8)

:D :D :D Sweeet session, wind came up at 9:30, decided it wasn't a thunderstorm, gear was already rigged, gusty in the bay, but at the mouth it was super steady, perfectly to slightly overpowered, spit to windward and another to leeward to make flat water, blasted through jibes (well, wobbled on a few!). Only problem was all the sticks and logs. Dust storm with the evening sun shining through it was surreal.

Sunday had the classic Nat thermals happening, and was a decent day for TOW... was surprised to see that everyone had come in at around 6:30, and I had the whole lake to myself for about an hour with excellent 25 knot wind! Must have had something to do with Monday morning work woes :cry:

Jeff from Victoria had a 205 l Techno and 7.9 Pryde that needed to be ridden. fun board, Had the Twinzer fins, a real cruiser.thanks for use of it ,Jeff. Wind filled in for the best of the 2 nitnat days,kept building even as we left.
